FAQ

Where are you located?

I currently live in Newport Beach in Orange County, CA but can come to any location.

How does this whole process work? What can I expect when I book a shoot?

Once I am contacted through email or Instagram DM, we begin planning a shoot that will suit your vision. This can be done in a series of messages or phone conversations, as we narrow down the details for the shoot including style, location, outfit, etc. A deposit is sent to reserve the date. On the shoot day, we’ll meet up and greet in a relaxed atmosphere before shooting. Depending on your experience, we can also go over posing techniques. The entire shoot will be a fun and stress-free environment. We’ll continue to collaborate on the vision and ideas throughout the shoot. I’ll send you the unedited JPG images the same day and you can choose the images you would like me to edit; editing turnaround time is one week or less from image section. Expediting editing is also an option.

How many looks/locations are included? What counts towards the purchased shooting time?

The client is free to do as many looks and locations as they would like. The purchased shooting time starts when we take the first image. It is up to you how this time is distributed between shooting and location/outfit changes. Changing time and the time taken moving to a second location both count towards the purchased time.

How does the retouching work?

Retouching is done by manually adjusting the luminosity of small areas of skin to even out inconsistencies. This method keeps skin texture, color, and facial structure intact and is the current cutting edge method of professional retouching used by the best photographers in the world. It is very realistic and even a trained eye will not be able to tell it has been done.

Is a deposit required to book a shoot?

A non-refundable $100 deposit is required to reserve a shooting time. This amount will be counted towards the package selected. The shoot may be rescheduled once with at least 4 days’ notice and the deposit applied to that date. The deposit will be forfeited in the case of a cancellation.

What forms of payment are accepted?

I can accept payment via Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, or cash.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are not typically offered but can be determined on a case by case basis. My goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with the final images. In the case you are not satisfied, we will go from there and determine the best course of correction, whether it is a re-edit, re-shoot, or refund.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot with some of the highest quality portrait photography gear on the market to ensure your images are as crisp and impactful as possible. Any image returned will have suitable quality for even a large billboard at 42mp. My digital camera is a Sony A7RIII. The digital lenses I use are the Sigma Art 85mm 1.4, Sigma Art 50mm 1.4, and Samyang 35mm 1.4. The film equipment I use is the Pentax SF10 (35mm film) with a Pentax SMC 50mm 1.4 and Sigma 105mm 2.8.

Do I have to have modeling experience to work with you?

Absolutely not. My portrait sessions are for individuals who have never posed before, for the most experienced models, and everyone in between. I can provide guiding and instruction as needed.

What is the pay by image structure?

The pay by image structure allows me to have consistent base rates through a variety of different shooting styles. For example, a model wanting fashion images has very different editing requirements than an engagement shoot. This also gives me more of an incentive to keep the quality of the images as high as possible, as the client is not obligated to purchase edits.
